Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), New Delhi, India


Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is a public university, which was originally established by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan as the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College in 1875, which then became Aligarh Muslim University in 1920, following the Aligarh Muslim University Act.

The main campus of AMU is located in the city of Aligarh in Delhi, which is spread over 467.6 hectares. Additionally it has three off-campus centres, namely, in Malappuram (Kerala), AMU Murshidabad centre (West Bengal), and Kishanganj Centre (Bihar).
